The Heat led by as many as 12 points in the second quarter and settled for a 46-38 halftime lead. Chalmers' 3-pointer early in the third restored the eight-point lead before Milwaukee took over, putting together a 16-3 run to take a 57-52 advantage late in the third and going up 11 early in the fourth on a jumper by Pachulia.

Shawne Williams had two 3-pointers and a layup during a 9-2 run for Miami before Knight buried a 3-pointer with 3:12 left to make it 81-74 and then answered Norris Cole's triple with another shot from beyond the arc with 2:17 to go.
