LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-best 33 points on 13-of-20 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds as visiting Portland won its eighth straight game while sending Philadelphia to its 14th consecutive defeat.
Wesley Matthews scored 17 points and Damian Lillard added 16 for the Trail Blazers. Robin Lopez had 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.
Michael Carter-Williams scored a season-high 24 points for the 76ers, who are one loss away from tying the franchise-worst 0-15 start by the 1972-73 squad. Henry Sims tallied a season-best 22 points and Tony Wroten contributed 20 points and nine assists.
The 76ers were within seven in the fourth quarter before Allen Crabbe scored five points and Chris Kaman scored four during a 9-0 run that saw Portland take a 100-84 lead with 7:35 to play. Philadelphia answered with nine consecutive points to get back within seven but Portland surged again and Matthews’ 3-pointer made it a 12-point margin with 2:47 remaining.
The 76ers used a 10-4 run in the latter part of the second quarter to take a two-point lead and ended up holding a 52-50 advantage at the break. Portland rolled up 39 third-quarter points – including 15 by Aldridge – and led by as many as 12 in the quarter before taking an 89-80 lead entering the final stanza.
