Rasual Butler matched his season high with 23 points off the bench as Washington used some hot perimeter shooting to knock off visiting Miami.
John Wall added 18 points and matched his season high with 13 assists for the Wizards, who made their first seven 3-point attempts before finishing 10-for-19. Marcin Gortat backed up his 24-point, 13-rebound performance on Saturday with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Washington.
Chris Bosh scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half for the Heat, who managed 37 points in the second half and finished under 100 for the eighth straight game. Dwyane Wade added 20 points on 9-for-13 shooting in his second game back in as many nights after missing seven with a hamstring injury.
The Heat shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half but the Wizards shot 63.2 and made all seven of their 3-point tries while building a 64-49 lead. Bradley Beal was limited to five first-half minutes due to foul trouble but still scored all eight of his points in that stretch and Butler, his replacement, scored 13 while Beal sat.
Miami called timeout after the Wizards scored eight straight points early in the second half to extend the lead to 72-51. The Heat responded with eight straight points of their own but couldn’t get back within single digits as Washington took an 81-66 lead into the fourth and cruised from there.
