DeMarre Carroll had 18 points and six rebounds before taking the fourth quarter off as visiting Atlanta crushed Brooklyn.
Paul Millsap added 17 points and nine boards while Jeff Teague collected 14 points, five assists and three steals for the Hawks, who won their fifth straight. Dennis Schroder scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Atlanta complete the rout.
Brook Lopez had 20 points and seven rebounds to lead the Nets. Joe Johnson was the only other player in double figures with 12 points as Brooklyn shot 37.5 percent from the field en route to a season low scoring effort.
Carroll knocked down all four of his 3-pointers and went 5-of-5 from the field in the second quarter as the Hawks turned a two-point deficit at the end of the first quarter into a 52-31 lead at the half. Carroll hit a pair of 3-pointers and Millsap and Mike Scott each added one triple during a 14-0 run that made it a 37-22 lead, and Carroll’s 3-pointer at the buzzer provided the 21-point halftime gap.
Kyle Korver’s 3-pointer with 7:48 left in the third made it a 67-42 cushion before Atlanta settled for a 78-55 lead heading to the final period. Schroder had an assist and scored 11 points during a 13-2 run that made it 91-59 lead with 6:14 left as the Hawks coasted to the finish.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Brooklyn’s previous season low came in a 95-83 home loss to Miami on Nov. 17. … Nets rookie G Markel Brown made his second career appearance and scored five points in a season-high 13 minutes. … Schroder added four of Atlanta’s 12 steals.
