Hawks 87, Magic 81

Paul Millsap scored 23 points to help host Atlanta rally for its ninth straight win in the front end of a home-and-home set with Orlando.

Al Horford had 17 points for the Hawks, whose streak is the longest for the franchise since an 11-gamer in 1997. Jeff Teague chipped in 13 points and DeMarre Carroll had 12 as Atlanta overcame an 11-point second quarter, its worst offensive period of the season.

Victor Oladipo was 3-for-3 from long range and led the Magic with 21 points while Evan Fournier contributed 18. Kyle O'Quinn registered 14 points and 10 rebounds and Tobias Harris had 13 points and 11 boards for Orlando, which had 19 turnovers.

Kyle Korver, Millsap and Mike Scott each hit 3-pointers in less than two minutes of action to give Atlanta a 79-73 lead with 4:56 left and Teague scored moments later for an eight-point advantage. O'Quinn had consecutive hoops and a turnover by Millsap gave the Magic a chance to get within a basket in the final minute but Oladipo gave the ball right back with 39.9 seconds left, and Teague and Millsap hit two free throws apiece to seal it.

The Hawks scored the final six points of the first quarter to claim a 29-26 lead but shot 4-of-22 in the second and entered halftime tied at 40. The offensive woes continued for Atlanta after the break and O'Quinn's three-point play gave Orlando a 57-45 lead midway through before Millsap's 3-pointer ignited a 19-7 burst that forged a 64-64 tie entering the fourth.
