LaMarcus Aldridge led the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds as Portland took over in the second half and breezed past visiting Miami.
Wesley Matthews added 18 points and Damian Lillard scored 16 for the Trail Blazers, who won for the 11th time in 13 games. Chris Kaman collected 10 points and nine rebounds as Portland matched the Golden State Warriors for the NBA lead with 28 wins.
Dwyane Wade had 23 points and seven rebounds and Chris Bosh scored 18 as the Heat fell for the fifth time in six games. Luol Deng was limited to seven points on 3-of-11 shooting for Miami, which shot 37.7 percent from the field.
The Heat led by as much as 10 points in the second quarter but settled for a 48-43 lead at the half. Matthews and Lillard hit back-to-back 3-pointers to highlight a 17-3 run beginning the third quarter as the Trail Blazers took control.
Dorell Wright nailed a deep jumper at the buzzer to extend the lead to 76-64 at the end of the third and back-to-back 3-pointers from Matthews and Allen Crabbe helped push the advantage to 86-69 with 9:15 left. Matthews’ final 3-pointer of the night made it 97-74 before both sides started clearing the benches.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lillard and Wade collided and fell to the floor hard at the end of the second quarter, but played after the break. … Heat C Hassan Whiteside recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in 19 minutes off the bench and has scored in double figures in three straight games. … Nicolas Batum and Meyers Leonard each grabbed nine rebounds as Portland built up a 50-42 advantage on the glass.
