Spurs 100, Suns 95

Danny Green scored 20 points and Patty Mills added 15 as host San Antonio halted Phoenix’s four-game winning streak.

Tim Duncan contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the Spurs won for only the sixth time in 15 games. Tiago Splitter collected a season-best 14 rebounds and San Antonio racked up 12 steals while forcing the Suns to commit 20 turnovers.

Eric Bledsoe had 19 points and 10 assists and P.J. Tucker scored a season-high 19 points for Phoenix, which lost for just the third time in 13 games. Goran Dragic added 17 points, Gerald Green scored 16, and Alex Len grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds.

Cory Joseph’s layup capped a 9-0 burst to give San Antonio a 79-77 lead with 5:15 remaining and Gerald Green halted the run by hitting a 3-pointer but Joseph added two more baskets to give the Spurs a three-point lead. Mills hit a 3-pointer to make it 90-84 with 1:40 left but Bledsoe hit a 3-pointer and Dragic made two free throws before Mills made another big 3-pointer and San Antonio finished it off at the line.

The Spurs led by as many as 14 in the second quarter before the Suns scored the final seven points of the half to trail 49-43. Splitter scored the first points of the third quarter for San Antonio before Phoenix ripped off a 17-1 surge and later moved ahead by 12 on Gerald Green’s basket before settling for a 69-59 advantage entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phoenix had a 29-3 edge in fast-break points. … Spurs PG Tony Parker (hamstring) had seven points and turned the ball over five times in his second game back from his ailment. … Suns PF Markieff Morris had just three points on 1-of-13 shooting.
