Jeremy Lin had 18 points and four steals and Carlos Boozer added 12 points and a season-high 14 rebounds as host Los Angeles knocked off Orlando.
Tarik Black scored a season-best 14 points and collected nine rebounds and Ryan Kelly had 13 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles, which opted to rest Kobe Bryant for the fifth time this season. Jordan Hill had 11 points and nine rebounds and Ed Davis contributed 10 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots as the Lakers possessed a dominating 60-36 rebounding advantage.
Victor Oladipo scored 17 points and Tobias Harris added 15 for the Magic, who lost their fifth straight game. Nikola Vucevic had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Orlando, which shot 39.5 percent from the field.
The Magic trailed by 12 early in the fourth quarter and were within 86-78 on Harris’ jumper with 6:20 to play. The Lakers rolled off the next 10 points – Boozer scored three consecutive baskets – to boost the margin to 18 as Orlando went more than five minutes without a field goal.
Los Angeles used an 11-2 surge late in the second quarter en route to a 54-45 lead at the break. The Lakers expanded the lead to 11 during the third quarter before the Magic closed strong to trail 73-67 entering the final stanza.
