Damian Lillard had 34 points and seven assists as visiting Portland defeated Los Angeles for the second time in seven days.

Wesley Matthews scored 16 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who have won four straight games and 13 of their last 15. Nicolas Batum contributed 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists and Chris Kaman grabbed 12 rebounds for Portland, which went 13-of-31 from 3-point range.

The Lakers held out Kobe Bryant to rest for the second straight game and third time in four games. Wesley Johnson scored 17 points, Jordan Hill added 14, Carlos Boozer had 13 points and nine rebounds and Ronnie Price had a career-high 12 assists.

Nick Young’s basket pushed the Lakers into a tie at 75 but Lillard soon scored eight consecutive points to give Portland an 87-76 lead. Wayne Ellington and Johnson hit back-to-back 3-pointers to pull Los Angeles within 97-90 with 2:12 to play and the Lakers crept within six before Lillard converted a three-point play with 1:04 to play and added a jumper and a 3-pointer as the Trail Blazers closed it out.

Lillard had 13 points and seven assists in the first half as Portland held a 50-45 lead at the break. A basket by Lillard gave the Trail Blazers a seven-point edge with 4:16 left in the third quarter before they settled for a 72-69 lead entering the final stanza.
