Gordon Hayward had 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting and recorded three steals as host Utah walloped Brooklyn.
Trey Burke scored 19 points and made four 3-pointers for the Jazz, who were 13-of-29 from 3-point range. Joe Ingles also made four 3-pointers while scoring a career-best 16 points, Dante Exum scored 13 points and Rudy Gobert collected 11 rebounds.
Jarrett Jack had 16 points and seven assists for the Nets, who have lost 10 of their last 12 games. Mason Plumlee added 11 points and six rebounds for Brooklyn, which was outrebounded 42-29.
Utah led by four points after the first quarter and began the second with an 8-1 run to take a 33-22 lead. The lead reached 17 on Hayward’s basket late in the stanza and Ingles ended a 33-point quarter with a 3-pointer to give the Jazz a 58-37 lead at the break.
The onslaught continued early in the third quarter with Exum’s 3-pointer making it 70-41 with 8:23 remaining. Trevor Booker’s fast-break hoop beat the buzzer in the third to make it 81-59 and Hayward’s three-point play pushed the lead to 30 with 5:21 left.
