Stephen Curry scored 26 of his season-high 51 points in the third quarter and buried a season-high 10 3-pointers as Golden State erased a 22-point deficit to beat visiting Dallas.
Curry went 16-of-26 from the field and 10-of-16 from beyond the arc as the Warriors erased their biggest deficit of the season en route to a third straight win. Klay Thompson added 18 points while Marreese Speights and Leandro Barbosa added 14 apiece off the bench for Golden State, which scored at least 100 points in its 19th straight game.
Chandler Parsons scored 24 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 15 for the Mavericks. Tyson Chandler collected 21 points and 17 rebounds while Monta Ellis scored 14 for Dallas, which had a three-game winning streak come to an end.
The Mavericks opened a 24-4 lead less than seven minutes into the game and were up 40-18 before settling for a 17-point lead after the first quarter. The Warriors used a 17-2 run early in the second to get back into the game and Curry’s basket sent them into the break down 62-58.
Thompson’s 3-pointer gave Golden State its first lead of the game at 71-70 and Curry buried a pair from beyond the arc to spread it to 79-73 before scoring the Warriors’ final nine points of the period to send them into the fourth up 101-98. Leandro Barbosa’s free throw put Golden State in front 112-101 with 7:43 to play and Curry scored the final eight points for the Warriors to close it out.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Curry’s 26-point third quarter was the best period of his career and the second best in the NBA this season after Thompson’s NBA-record 37-point outburst against Sacramento last month. … The Warriors are a season-high 31 games over .500 and improved to 23-2 at home. … The Mavericks shot 31.4 percent in the second half after going 25-of-47 from the floor before the break.
