Deron Williams collected 16 points and 12 rebounds as visiting Brooklyn took over in the second half and cruised past Denver.

Brook Lopez added 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench and Markel Brown posted season highs of 10 points and 11 boards as the Nets improved to 2-3 on their eight-game road trip. Thaddeus Young scored 15 points, Mason Plumlee had 14 and Alan Anderson scored 13 for Brooklyn.

Danilo Gallinari scored 22 points for the Nuggets, who have dropped three straight and nine of 10. Newcomer Will Barton scored a season-high 15 points off the bench and Darrell Arthur collected 10 points and seven rebounds for Denver.

Lopez scored six points in an 8-2 run that gave the Nets a 38-33 lead midway through the second quarter and Brooklyn ended the half with a 9-0 burst to take a 54-45 lead into the break. The surge continued at the beginning of the third quarter as Williams’ basket pushed the advantage to 63-47.

The Nets built an 18-point lead late in the third and settled for an 85-69 gap heading into the fourth. Lopez knocked down a long jumper to make it 101-75 with 5:31 left and Brooklyn cleared the bench shortly after as the Nuggets went quietly.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nets G Jarrett Jack (hamstring) and G Bojan Bogdanovic (ankle) each sat out the game and are day-to-day. … Brooklyn is reportedly on the verge of adding F Thomas Robinson, who was waived by the Nuggets after being acquired at the trade deadline. … The 28-point margin of victory was the largest in a road game for the Nets this season.
