Grizzlies 90, Clippers 87

Mike Conley had 18 points and seven assists and also delivered a game-saving steal as visiting Memphis halted Los Angeles’ four-game winning streak.

Jeff Green scored 16 points and Marc Gasol added 14 points and three blocked shots for the Grizzlies, who won for the 16th time in 19 games. Tony Allen scored 10 points and Zach Randolph collected 10 rebounds but had seven points on 2-of-12 shooting.

Chris Paul had 30 points and 10 assists but his fourth turnover ended the Clippers’ attempt to snatch victory away from Memphis. Jamal Crawford added 15 points and DeAndre Jordan grabbed 17 rebounds for Los Angeles.

Gasol’s basket gave the Grizzlies an 81-75 lead with 4:43 remaining and the lead reached eight on Courtney Lee’s 3-pointer with 2:28 to play before Paul scored four points during a 7-0 surge to pull Los Angeles within 88-87 with 1:09 remaining. The Clippers had a chance for a late go-ahead basket and Paul was driving toward the lane when he had the ball stolen by Conley, who was fouled and made two free throws with 1.5 seconds left and Los Angeles forward Matt Barnes had the ensuing in-bounds pass intercepted by Lee to end it.

Paul had 19 first-half points as Los Angeles took a 44-38 lead into the break. The Grizzlies knotted the score at 49 on Randolph’s basket with 9:15 left in the third before Jordan’s last-second dunk gave the Clippers a 68-66 edge entering the final stanza.
