Lakers 93, Pistons 85

Jordan Hill scored 16 points to lead seven players in double figures as host Los Angeles held off Detroit to snap a five-game slide.

Wesley Johnson and Ed Davis scored 13 points apiece and Jeremy Lin contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Lakers. Wayne Ellington scored 11 points and Jordan Clarkson had 10 to go along with a season-high eight assists for Los Angeles.

Greg Monroe collected 24 points and nine rebounds while Andre Drummond added 14 points and 21 boards for the Pistons, who have dropped seven straight to fall 5 1/2 games behind the Charlotte Hornets in the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 15 points and Jodie Meeks had 12 off the bench for Detroit.

Lin found Davis for his second straight dunk and then split a pair of free throws to put the Lakers up 78-69 with 6:56 to play. Back-to-back putbacks from Drummond cut it to 83-80 with 2:57 left but Monroe missed a pair of free throws with a chance to cut it to one and Lin found Hill for a jumper before hitting four at the line to put it away.

Caldwell-Pope hit two 3-pointers and Meeks added another in an 11-4 burst closing the half that left the Pistons in front 50-49 at the break. Detroit went the first 6:16 of the third quarter without a point as the Lakers pushed ahead 57-50, and Los Angeles held a six-point edge heading into the final period.
