Nets 110, Knicks 104

NEW YORK -- Forward Thaddeus Young posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets placed six players in double figures and ended a 10-game home losing streak with a 110-104 victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.

Young finished with his 19th double-double and reached double figures for the 35th time. He also thrived defensively against Knicks rookie forward Kristaps Porzingis.

Porzingis was held to 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the floor. He was 1 of 8 when Young was defending him.

Center Brook Lopez had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Nets, who won their first home game since beating the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 10 and snapped a five-game overall losing streak.

Besides productive games from the frontcourt duo, the Nets received 17 points from reserve guard Shane Larkin and 14 each from Bojan Bogdanovic and forward Joe Johnson.

The Knicks played their third game of the season without forward Carmelo Anthony (sprained right ankle) and fell to 0-3 when he sits out. Reserve forward Derrick Williams tied a career high with 31 points but missed his final two shots.

Point guard Jose Calderon added 16 points and guard Arron Afflalo chipped in 15 for New York (20-21), which was trying to go above .500 for the first time since Nov. 23.

Lance Thomas started in the frontcourt for Anthony but was held to six points on 2-of-10 shooting from the floor.

The game featured 14 lead changes and nine ties, but the Nets gained some separation in the final minutes. The Knicks were up 92-90 with 5:21 remaining on an open 3-pointer, but the Nets never trailed after getting consecutive dunks by Lopez and Young for a 94-92 lead with 3:56 left.

Johnson hit two mid-range jumpers in a span of 30 seconds for a 100-94 lead with 1:29 lead. About a minute later, Larkin hit a pull-up jumper for a 102-95 lead, sending many Knicks fans to the exits.
