Buccaneers RB Doug Martin to be Healthy Scratch Week 17

For the second consecutive week, Pro Bowl running back Doug Martin will be a healthy scratch for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Martin, who put up over 1,700 total yards a season ago, was an inactive this past week due to what was described as a "coach's decision." It's an interesting move, but Martin himself has struggled this season. He's averaging less than three yards per rush since returning from a hamstring injury in mid November. With Martin out, Jacquizz Rodgers will get a bulk of the touches Week 17 against Carolina.
