Fantasy Alert: Lions Make Matthew Stafford NFL's Highest-Paid Player

The Detroit Lions just made Matthew Stafford the highest-paid player in NFL history, signing him to a five-year, $135 million deal. It surpasses the five-year, $125 million contract Derek Carr signed with the Oakland Raiders during the spring.

For those of you who own Stafford in dyno leagues, this puts to rest the idea that he will be moving on from the Lions after this season. Remember, he was set to become a free agent in March.

Stafford, 29, has finished as a QB1 option five of the past six seasons.
