As expected, the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday placed star tight end Greg Olsen on injured reserve with a broken foot. He suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills and will now be out of action for at least the next eight weeks.
Given that Olsen has put up three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and has finished as a top-five fantasy tight end each season, it's a major blow for both fantasy owners and Cam Newton. Ed Dickson will take over the starting role in his stead, but we expect Christian McCaffrey to see more targets out of the backfield with Olsen sidelined.
