The New England Patriots will be without Danny Amendola for their Week 2 game against the New Orleans Saints after he suffered a concussion in the team's season opener. The hope was that an extended week following a Thursday game would help Amendola pass through the NFL's concussion protocol. That did not happen.
With Amendola out and Julian Edelman sitting for the season with a torn ACL, the Pats are dealing going through their depth chart at receiver.
Amendola caught 6-of-7 passes from Tom Brady for 100 yards in the Patriots' Week 1 loss to Kansas City. Brady completed just 4-of-12 passes for 96 yards to the rest of his Pats wide receivers in the loss.
