The New England Patriots may not just be withoutTom Brady to open the 2016 NFL season as Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reported on Friday that running back Dion Lewis, could start the season on the physically unable to perform list and would miss at least the first six games of the season as a result.

Lewis was a PPR fantasy force early in the 2015 season. He had 36 receptions for 388 receiving yards, 234 rushing yards and four total touchdowns in the first seven games. But it was in that seventh game on November 8 that Lewis went down with a torn ACL.

While Lewis was able to practice some in June minicamps, Volin reports he hasn't been seen on the field since training camp started in July as he sits on the active/PUP list. If he is out to start the regular season, it will be a big blow for PPR fantasy owners who were counting on Lewis, but he is still absolutely worth targeting given how dangerous he can be as a receiver out of the backfield.
