With the deadline to cut players less than 24 hours away, the New Orleans Saints encountered a tough hit to worsen matters on Friday. Wide receiver Willie Snead IV received a three-game suspension from the NFL, a move which could force New Orleans to roster an additional wide receiver.
ESPN's Field Yates first reported the news on Friday. While the reasoning for Snead's suspension isn't known, the ban will likely result in him sitting out New Orleans first three games of the 2017 season.
With Snead sidelined, Ted Ginn becomes a more popular target for DFS and deep leagues to start the season. He will be the team's top deep threat in a pass-heavy offense and could see even more targets early on with Snead sidelined.
