It surely does look like Lamar Miller will finally get the touches most of us thought he should have received over the past couple seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
Replacing Arian Foster with the Houston Texans, Miller is going to be tasked with being the primary ball-carrier in an offense that has had a nice amount of success on the ground in recent seasons.
Even with Foster himself missing 12 games in 2015, the Texans still averaged 108.2 rushing yards per game. They also put up a whopping 29.5 rush attempts per game.
In comparison, Miami averaged just 21.5 rush attempts per game while putting up less than 94 yards. Despite averaging 4.5 yards per rush, Miller himself only saw an average of 12.1 rush attempts per game.
That's absolutely ridiculous considering Miller's level of success when actually touching the ball. Add in his 47 receptions, and the former fourth-round pick averaged 5.3 yards per touch last year. This came on the heels of him putting up an average of 5.4 yards in 2014.
What's amazing here is that Miller was still able to finish as a top-six fantasy running back despite his lack of consistent touches.
That's definitely not going to be the case in Houston. And while we want to avoid ridiculous projections, there's no real reason to believe Miller won't be able to put up top-three or top-four production from the running back position in 2016.
