Nico Collins Lands on IR, Texans’ WR Depth Tested

Nico Collins Injury Update

The Houston Texans have placed WR Nico Collins on Injured Reserve due to a hamstring injury, ruling him out for at least the next four games. Collins’ absence is a significant blow to Houston’s offense, which has relied on his deep-threat ability. He’ll miss matchups against the Patriots, Packers, Colts, and Jets, with a possible return in Week 10 against the Lions. Hamstring injuries can be unpredictable, but there’s hope Collins will recover fully within the four-week IR period.

Without Collins, rookie QB C.J. Stroud will need to adjust. This shift opens up opportunities for other receivers, such as Nathaniel Dell, who has shown potential in the passing game, and TE Dalton Schultz, who could become a key red-zone target moving forward.

Fantasy Impact: Dell and Schultz See Increased Roles

Fantasy managers should look to Dell as a viable FLEX option. His chemistry with Stroud has already been promising, and Collins’ absence should allow him to see even more targets, particularly in the red zone. Schultz, meanwhile, may benefit as well, especially in scoring situations. With the increased target share, both players hold value in most fantasy formats.

Looking Ahead: Nico Collins' Potential Week 10 Return

Collins is eligible to return in Week 10, and if his recovery goes well, he could reclaim his role as a primary target. Until then, Dell and Schultz provide depth, and potentially strong fantasy value, in the Texans' offense. Fantasy managers should monitor updates on Collins’ recovery as Week 10 approaches.
