Giants at Eagles

THE STORY: While Michael Vick's status is up in the air, Domenik Hixon's is not. Vick took part in Wednesday's walkthrough but is questionable to play in Sunday's matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants due to a concussion he suffered in last Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Meanwhile, Hixon's highlight-reel touchdown catch in New York's victory over the St. Louis Rams on Monday night proved costly as the receiver suffered a torn ACL on the play and is done for the season. Philadelphia has won the last six meetings between the NFC East rivals, including the playoffs.

ABOUT THE GIANTS (1-1): This is the second straight year in which Hixon tore his right ACL. He missed the entire 2010 campaign after suffering the exact same injury during a workout in minicamp. He is the third Giant out for the season with a knee injury, joining cornerback Terrell Thomas and linebacker Jonathan Goff, who both got hurt in the preseason. New York's receiving corps could be even more depleted Sunday as Mario Manningham is questionable with a concussion suffered on Monday. Defensive end Osi Umenyiora could make his season debut after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery during training camp.

ABOUT THE EAGLES (1-1): If Vick is unable to play, Mike Kafka is likely to get the call. Kafka replaced Vick against Atlanta and was 7 of 9 for 72 yards in his NFL debut. Veteran Vince Young missed Philadelphia's first two games with a strained hamstring and is questionable for Sunday. WR Steve Smith will face the Giants for the first time after spending the first four years of his career with New York. Smith had two receptions for 29 yards in his first two games as an Eagle.

EXTRA POINTS:

1. The game marks a battle between two of the top quarterback-crunching teams in the NFL since 2006. Philadelphia has recorded 217 sacks in that time frame, the third-highest total in the league, while New York is fifth with 211.

2. DeSean Jackson has scored five career touchdowns against the Giants. Two came on punt returns, including a 65-yarder as time expired on Dec. 19 at Giants Stadium to give the Eagles a 38-31 victory.

3. Of Manningham's 14 career touchdowns, only two have been for less than 20 yards.
