Rams at Packers

THE STORY: The powerhouse Green Bay Packers are looking unstoppable, and even the potential for a severe letdown shouldn't present much of an obstacle for the reigning Super Bowl champions when they host the winless St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Winners of 11 consecutive games dating to last season, Green Bay is one of two undefeated teams in the league (along with division rival Detroit) and tops the NFL in scoring. Contrast that with the Rams, who are averaging a league-low 11.5 points per game and are one of three teams without a victory this season.

ABOUT THE RAMS (0-4): Last week’s bye provided a needed respite for St. Louis, but it hasn’t slowed the string of injuries that has plagued the team. Cornerback Bradley Fletcher was lost for the season after injuring a knee in practice, leaving the Rams without their starting cornerbacks and leading receiver Danny Amendola for the season. QB Sam Bradford has been sacked 12 times in his last two games, including a career-high seven in a Week 4 home loss to Washington. Injuries have limited RB Steven Jackson to 124 yards on 23 carries.

ABOUT THE PACKERS (5-0): Green Bay spotted Atlanta a 14-point lead on the road before roaring back with 25 unanswered points last week to move to 5-0 for the first time since 1965. Aaron Rodgers completed passes to 12 difference receivers and threw for 396 yards and two TDs. He also became the first QB in history to open the season with five straight games with a passing rating of at least 110.0. James Jones had five receptions for a TD and a career-high 140 yards. Mason Crosby booted four field goals, including tying his own team record with a 56-yarder, to improve to a perfect 9-for-9 on the season.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Green Bay is off to a 5-0 start for the seventh time in franchise history. The first six ended up in NFL championships.

2. Since the start of the 2007 season, St. Louis is 6-27 on the road.

3. "They're scary good. That's a good word; they're scary good. ... We've got to find a way to slow them down and see if we can't have one more point than they do." – Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo on facing the Packers.
