Titans 29, Giants 10
Chris Johnson rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns and the Tennessee Titans cruised past the mistake-prone New York Giants 29-10 at the New Meadowlands on Sunday.
The Titans (2-1) never trailed in the game. They took a 10-0 lead on a 48-yard field goal by Rob Bironas and a 1-yard touchdown run by Johnson in the first half.
The Giants (1-2) came back to tie the game at 10-10 before the break. Ahmad Bradshaw had a 10-yard touchdown run and Lawrence Tynes booted a 50-yard field goal.
But the Giants made several critical mistakes throughout the game and the Titans outscored them 19-0 in the second half.
New York turned the ball over three times, including twice in the red zone, and Tynes missed two field goals.
The Titans took a 12-10 lead when Bradshaw was called for chop-block penalty in his own end zone that resulted in a safety. On the ensuing possession, Vince Young capped a drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Britt to make it 29-10.
Bironas hit from 23 yards out in the fourth quarter to make it 22-10 and Johnson, who carried the ball 32 times, capped the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run late in the game.
New York’s Eli Manning was 34 for 48 passing for 390 yards in the game but had no touchdowns and two interceptions.
