Colts 27, Redskins 24

Peyton Manning threw for over 300 yards and two touchdown passes as the Indianapolis Colts outlasted the host Washington Redskins 27-24 on Sunday night.

Manning finished 25 of 38 for 307 yards and threw scoring passes of 57 yards to Pierre Garcon and 5 yards to Austin Collie for the Colts (4-2).

Joseph Addai rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries before leaving with a shoulder injury early in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Torain ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns for Washington (3-3), which couldn't take full advantage of three Indianapolis fumbles in the second half.

Donovan McNabb was 29 of 45 for 246 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. A one-handed pick by Aaron Francisco with 24 seconds to play snuffed out the Redskins’ last hope.

McNabb capped a 12-play, 92-yard drive with an 8-yard scoring pass to rookie Keiland Williams to pull Washington within 27-24 with 2:46 to play.

Trailing 17-7 at the half, Washington got back in the game on Manning's fumble early in the second half. Torain plowed in from 1 yard out four plays later to cut the deficit to 17-14.

The Colts needed just 1 minute, 57 seconds to respond. Addai capped a four-play, 66 yard march with a 13-yard run to extend the lead to 24-14 with 9:21 left in the third. Addai set up the score with a 45-yard run.

A pair of scoring passes by Manning and a 43-yard field goal by Vinatieri staked the Colts to the 17-7 halftime lead. The margin could have greater but Vinatieri missed field goals of 38 and 48 yards.
