Brad Smith scored a backbreaking 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter as host Buffalo snapped a three-game losing streak in their season finale.

C.J. Spiller totaled 131 all-purpose yards, including a 66-yard touchdown reception from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter to pace the Bills (6-10). Fitzpatrick finished 12-for-26 for 225 yards while Stevie Johnson caught six passes for 111 yards.

A week after being benched, Mark Sanchez returned to the lineup and his mistake-filled ways for New York (6-10). Sanchez threw an interception which Bryan Scott returned 20 yards for a touchdown to give Buffalo a 7-3 lead in the first quarter, and he also lost his 16th fumble of the season. Sanchez finished 17-for-35 for 205 yards.

The Jets, which lost for the third straight time, dominated control of the ball in the first half but continuously stalled in the red zone and trailed 14-9 at the break. Nick Folk accounted for all the New York scoring with three field goals.

After Smith's short TD scamper gave the Bills a 21-9 lead, Tashard Choice completed the scoring with a 13-yard scoring run with 1:10 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Buffalo's Rian Lindell missed two field goals in the third quarter and Folk had a field goal attempt blocked. ... Jets QB Greg McElroy was inactive with a concussion. Tim Tebow played just one snap and handed off out the Wildcat formation. ... The Jets hammered the Bills 48-28 in the season opener.
