A four game schedule hits the ice tonight, with two teams looking to close out their series on the road (Chicago, Calgary) and tough battles in the Tampa Bay / Detroit and Washington / NY Islanders series. The Blackhawks are coming off a big triple overtime win over Nashville, and we’ll see if the Predators can bounce back tonight at home.
The style of play in the playoffs is usually tighter checking and more defensive minded, which makes things a bit more difficult for playing daily fantasy hockey. That is true again tonight with each series reaching a critical stage. We’ll want to spread out our cash game (50/50s, head-to-head) lineups with exposure to several teams, and for tournaments, players from any of the eight teams could be stack together in a lineup. In today’s article, we’ll break things down and identify which players to target for building winning DFS hockey lineups on FanDuel. Included also are some sample lineups for cash games and GPP tournaments.
DFS Hockey Analysis – CGY @ VAN
- Another big win by Calgary at home in Game 4 now has them on the verge of winning the series and sending Vancouver to the golf courses
- Calgary’s top line of Johnny Gaudreau, Jiri Hudler and Sean Monahan had a big game and will once again be key for a potential Flames victory
- The claws are out in this series, as both teams have made runs at one another depending on who was leading on the scoreboard. Expect another chippy, rough and tumble game, which could open up opportunities for four-on-four action and power play chances
- Jonas Hiller has played like he did earlier in the regular season, which has really propelled the Flames game.
- The Sedin line is the only line on Vancouver you can trust right now, as the secondary scoring bounces between the second and third lines. Jannik Hansen moves up to play with the Sedins on the first line for this game, with Burrows out. Radim Vrbata played with the Sedins in game #3, but Vancouver likes him on the second line as a spark there instead
FLAMES STACK – top power play unit: Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Jiri Hudler, Dennis Wideman, Kris Russell
FLAMES VALUE PLAYS (for DFS tonight): Michael Ferland, T.J. Brodie, Sam Bennett
CANUCKS STACK – first line: Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Jannik Hansen and add Alexander Edler
CANUCKS VALUE PLAYS (for DFS tonight): Nick Bonino, Bo Horvat, Yannick Weber, Jannik Hansen
