Daily FanDuel Fantasy Hockey Picks: April 25, 2015

There is another four game schedule today, with games starting at 3pm/6pm/8pm/9pm (EDT), and three teams up 3-2 in their series and trying to close things out. We’ll see if the Capitals, Blackhawks and Flames can clinch their series, or if any of the Islanders, Predators or Canucks can force Game 7. In the other match, the Red Wings and Lightning play a pivotal Game 5 with the series tied 2-2.

The first round playoff series are winding down, but there are still a lot of daily fantasy hockey games and tournaments going. With the high potential for low scoring games today, it will be important to have players from several teams in our cash game (50/50s, head-to-head) lineups, while players and lines from all eight teams in action could be used in stacks for tournament play. In today's article we'll break down the teams and players to target in your daily fantasy hockey lineups. Also included are sample lineups for cash game (50/50s, head-to-head) contests and for GPP tournaments.

DFS Hockey Analysis – TB @ DET

  • It was a stunning come from behind win by Tampa Bay in Game 4, trailing 2-0 with less than six minutes to play. That is when the Tyler Johnson show took over, with the first goal, setting up Ondrej Palat a minute later for the tying goal, and then scoring the overtime winner
  • The victory for Tampa Bay was huge as they now return home with the series tied, instead of down 3-1
  • The Lightning have all the momentum now, and are heavily favored to take Game 5 at home. Detroit have not been able to contain Tampa Bay’s deep and high powered offense, and they’ll need another big game from goaltender Petr Mrazek to pull off the upset
  • All forwards in the Lightning top two lines are in play for cash game lineups, and either line could be stacked in a tournament. On defense, both Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman are good choices. The Red Wings are only worth using as a contrarian play for tournaments
