Daily FanDuel Fantasy Hockey Picks: Feb 20, 2015

Preparing to play Daily Fantasy Hockey tonight? In the Powerplay article today we’ll cover a lot of areas to assist in your research and make strong lineups to win your games on FanDuel.

Friday night features another seven game schedule in the NHL, with a good mix of games that should be blowouts and others that are close and could go either way. There are a few teams that stand out as top targets for our cash game lineups, and as usual there are many ways to construct GPP tournament lineups.

Today’s article will provide analysis for the teams in action, top teams to target for daily fantasy, recommend players for FanDuel, and even sample lineups that could be used to help build ones for tonight’s play.

Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey

New York Rangers – This is an incredible matchup for the Rangers and ALL their players are options tonight for daily fantasy hockey. The Sabres are dead last in the league in every major category, while the Rangers are the league’s top scoring team in the month of February. The Sabres played last night in Philadelphia (a rare win, 3-2 in a shootout), before travelling to New York, and they are playing their third road game in four nights. The Rangers also played last night, but it was a home game (5-4 shootout loss to Vancouver). Any combination of the Rangers’ top lines or powerplay units can be used as a great tournament stack tonight. For cash game lineups, it would be a good strategy to get at least one player from each of the top two lines, along with one of the top defensemen - Ryan McDonagh and Dan Boyle.

Recommended Plays for FanDuel

Rick Nash ($8,500) – The Rangers’ offense has been on fire lately and Nash is a big reason why. He’s been a top player in fantasy this year, amongst the league leaders in goals, points, plus/minus and shots on goal. Nash is always a good play in daily fantasy because of his consistent point production (i.e. points in eight of his past 10 games) and high shot total. He also has the big-game upside you look for with GPP tournaments.

Justin Faulk ($4,800) – The Hurricanes should score a few goals tonight and with their scoring spread out, it is a good play to get Faulk into your lineups as he is often involved in the scoring. Faulk is having a breakout season as the Canes’ top defenseman and powerplay quarterback, with 10 goals, 35 points and 154 shots. In an earlier game this year against Toronto, Faulk scored a goal and an assist, and he could deliver another multi-point game tonight.

Ryan Suter ($3,900) – Suter’s production has been sporadic this year, but he’s still had a good season overall with 30 points. Suter is in a good situation to score as the Wild’s top defenseman, and when the match-up is good he’s a good target in daily fantasy, especially now with his price-tag lowered.
