Avalanche at Coyotes
Less than 24 hours after ending a lengthy losing streak, the Arizona Coyotes look to record consecutive wins for the first time in more than a month when they wrap up their five-game homestand Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. Arizona staged a late rally on Friday to post a 3-2 overtime triumph over Washington, ending its seven-game slide (0-6-1).
Rookie Clayton Keller set up the tying goal with 1:01 left in the third period and scored the winner at 4:33 of the extra session to raise his team-leading point total to 28. The 19-year-old center is riding a four-game point streak during which he has collected two goals and three assists. Colorado also went to overtime in its last contest, dropping a 2-1 decision in Los Angeles on Thursday. Captain Gabriel Landeskog scored the lone goal for the Avalanche, pulling him within one of team leader Nathan MacKinnon (15) and giving him seven points (four tallies) over his last three contests.

ABOUT THE AVALANCHE (16-15-3): In addition to goals, MacKinnon leads Colorado in overall scoring with 40 points in 34 games after registering 53 in 82 contests last season. The 22-year-old center is riding a four-game point streak during which he has collected four goals and three assists. Mikko Rantanen has recorded an assist in each of his last five contests while also netting a tally during that span.
ABOUT THE COYOTES (8-24-5): Josh Archibald made his debut for Arizona on Friday, registering three shots, two hits and a minus-1 rating in 16 minutes, 11 seconds of ice time. The 25-year-old right wing, who was acquired from Pittsburgh on Tuesday, had recorded three goals in 14 games with the Penguins over parts of the last three seasons. Christian Fischer has scored in each of his last two contests after going eight games without a goal.
OVERTIME
1. Avalanche D Erik Johnson finished serving his two-game suspension on Thursday and should be in the lineup against the Coyotes.
2. Arizona C Brad Richardson has recorded just one point over his last 14 games and is five away 200 in the NHL.
3. Colorado C Colin Wilson is two goals shy of 100 for his career.
