Ducks at Flames
The Calgary Flames attempt to complete their three-game homestand with a perfect record and avenge their most recent loss when they host the Pacific Division-rival Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. Calgary has bounced back from a 2-1 setback in Anaheim on Dec. 29, opening its string at Scotiabank Saddledome by topping Chicago in overtime before edging Los Angeles 4-3 on Thursday.
The Flames spotted the Kings a 2-0 lead before erupting for four goals in the second period, with Sean Monahan recording a tally and an assist for the second straight game to raise his team-leading goal total to 19 after enduring a nine-game drought. Anaheim improved to 3-0-1 in its last four both on the road and overall with Thursday's 2-1 shootout loss in Edmonton. Ryan Kesler scored his first goal in just his fifth game of the season as the Ducks moved to 1-0-1 on their month-opening five-game trek. The 33-year-old center, who appeared in all 82 contests last campaign, missed the first 37 of 2017-18 while recovering from offseason hip surgery.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (19-14-9): Rickard Rakell leads the team with 15 goals but had his six-game streak snapped by the Oilers. The 24-year-old Swede collected 10 of his club-high 31 points during the run, which included four two-point performances. Captain Ryan Getzlaf, who is second on the team with 23 points despite playing only 18 games, is two assists shy of 600 for his career.
ABOUT THE FLAMES (20-16-4): Monahan's goal against Los Angeles was his seventh game-winner of the season, tying him with Tampa Bay's Brayden Point for the league lead through Thursday. The 23-year-old center is one away from matching the career high he set in 2014-15, when he also recorded a personal best with 31 overall goals. Micheal Ferland also notched a tally and an assist Thursday, eclipsing the career high of 15 goals he set last season in the process.
