Ducks at Maple Leafs
After having their winning streak halted last time out, the Toronto Maple Leafs attempt to start a new one when they begin a five-game homestand Monday against the Anaheim Ducks. Toronto dropped a 4-1 decision in Boston on Saturday, ending a string of four straight victories during which it scored a total of 16 goals.
Mitch Marner scored for the Maple Leafs in the loss, giving him four of his nine tallies this season in his last seven games. Anaheim fell to 1-1-1 on its five-game road trip with a 5-2 loss at Montreal on Saturday in which it allowed the first four goals and yielded three power-play tallies overall. Rickard Rakell scored his club-high 19th goal and added an assist to increase his team-leading total to 41 points as the Ducks lost for the fifth time in their last seven away from home (2-3-2). The 24-year-old Swede has registered five points in his last three contests and posted three two-point performances over his last six games.
