Oilers at Sharks

The San Jose Sharks attempt to reclaim second place in the Pacific Division on Saturday as they look to avoid a third straight overall loss when they host the Edmonton Oilers. San Jose, which fell to third in the division with Los Angeles' victory Friday, has allowed a total of 16 goals while dropping three in a row at home (0-2-1).

The latest setback at SAP Center came Thursday, when the Sharks fell farther behind Vegas for the top spot in the Pacific with a 5-3 defeat. Captain Joe Pavelski scored a pair of goals in the loss, matching his output from the previous 18 contests. Edmonton hopes to salvage the finale of its California road trip after losing in Los Angeles on Wednesday and Anaheim two nights later. Captain Connor McDavid is riding a five-game point streak during which he has collected seven goals and four assists.
