Sharks at Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks have been superb at home of late, winning seven of their last eight contests at Honda Center. Anaheim looks to avenge its only loss in that stretch when it hosts the Pacific Division-rival San Jose Sharks on Sunday.

The Ducks edged visiting Edmonton 3-2 on Friday for their third consecutive home victory since dropping a 6-2 decision to San Jose on Jan. 21. Anaheim is in the thick of races for a wild-card spot in the Western Conference or second in the Pacific, a spot currently occupied by the Sharks after their 6-4 triumph over the Oilers on Saturday. Captain Joe Pavelski recorded his second straight two-goal performance and added a pair of assists while defenseman Joakim Ryan also scored twice - his first two career goals - as San Jose moved one point ahead of Los Angeles in the division. The Sharks look to have balanced scoring once again against Anaheim as 10 of their 12 forwards landed on the scoresheet Saturday.

ABOUT THE SHARKS (29-18-8): San Jose scored the first three and final three goals in Saturday's triumph, with Ryan's second of the contest with 2:27 left in the third period proving to be the game-winner. The 24-year-old native of New Jersey, who was a seventh-round pick in the 2012 draft, had notched seven assists over his first 45 games this season - his first in the NHL. Veteran Joel Ward is out indefinitely with a right shoulder injury he suffered in Thursday's home loss to Vegas but hopes to return this season.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (27-19-10): Hampus Lindholm registered a goal and an assist against Edmonton, ending his six-game point drought. The 24-year-old Swede's tally was his 37th with Anaheim, tying him with Fredrik Olausson for fifth place on the franchise list for defensemen. Corey Perry is riding a four-game point streak that has seen him score a goal in three of the contests and record a four-assist performance in the other.
