Wild at Predators
The Nashville Predators aim to conclude their four-game homestand with a third straight victory when they host the Central Division-rival Minnesota Wild on Monday. Nashville was blanked by Calgary in the opener of the string of contests at Bridgestone Arena before totaling eight goals in triumphs over Winnipeg and the New York Islanders.
Filip Forsberg scored twice while Viktor Arvidsson recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Islanders as the Predators swept the season series after posting a 4-3 victory in New York on Oct. 6. Minnesota is coming off a three-game homestand on which every contest went beyond regulation, including Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to Carolina. The Wild have picked it up offensively, scoring four goals in each of its last two contests after recording just one in each of their first two games. Jason Zucker, who is the only member of the Wild with more than one tally, netted his third of the season and the 100th of his career on Saturday.
TV: 8 p.m. ET, FS North, FS Wisconsin (Minnesota), FS Tennessee (Nashville)
ABOUT THE WILD (1-1-2): Zach Parise has notched a pair of assists in each of his last two contests, giving him a team-high five points. The 34-year-old native of Minneapolis is two power-play goals shy of 100 for his career and 10 points away from 700 in the NHL. Joel Eriksson Ek will miss his second consecutive game with a upper-body injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for a week.
ABOUT THE PREDATORS (4-1-0): Dan Hamhuis notched an assist on Saturday for the first point of his second tenure with the franchise. The 35-year-old defenseman, who signed a two-year contract as a free agent in July, was drafted 12th overall by Nashville in 2001 and spent the first six seasons of his career with the team but joined Vancouver via free agency on July 1, 2010 after his negotiating rights were traded twice in late June. Ryan Hartman has collected four points in his first five games of 2018-19 after notching six in 21 contests after being acquired from Chicago last season.
