Predators at Sharks
Joe Pavelski helped the San Jose Sharks end one streak and continue another last time out with his best offensive effort of the season. The 34-year-old captain seeks a repeat performance on Tuesday as the Sharks aim for their fourth straight win at SAP Center when they continue their six-game homestand with a contest against the Nashville Predators.
Pavelski scored a goal and set up a pair of others for his first two assists of the season as San Jose began its homestand - and ended a two-game slide - on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Calgary. League-leading Nashville's five-game winning streak has come to an end, but its point streak reached six contests with Monday's 2-1 shootout loss in Anaheim. Kevin Fiala scored the lone goal for the Predators, who are 2-0-1 on their five-game road trip and 8-0-1 overall away from home. Filip Forsberg leads Nashville with 10 goals but is in the midst of a six-game drought after registering a hat trick on Oct. 27 versus Edmonton.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (13-3-1): Viktor Arvidsson's return to the lineup was short-lived, as the 25-year-old Swede was placed on injured reserve Monday with an upper-body injury. Arvidsson was hurt in Saturday's overtime victory at Dallas - his first game back after missing a pair with a lower-body ailment. Calle Jarnkrok missed his second consecutive contest Monday with a lower-body injury while defenseman Roman Josi was kept off the scoresheet, ending his point streak at five games.
ABOUT THE SHARKS (9-6-3): San Jose could be without Logan Couture when it faces Nashville as the 29-year-old center exited the win over the Flames - his 600th game in the NHL - with an undisclosed injury. Couture has notched just one assist in his last four contests after registering a nine-game point streak during which he collected five goals and nine assists. Tomas Hertl returned to the lineup Sunday after missing three games with a concussion and recorded his 99th career assist.
OVERTIME
1. Sharks D Erik Karlsson, who remains in search of his first goal with his new team, is mired in a seven-game point drought and needs one assist to reach 400 for his career.
2. Nashville is looking to avenge one of its three regulation losses of the season - a 5-4 home setback on Oct. 23.
3. San Jose LW Evander Kane has recorded two goals in his last three contests after enduring an 11-game drought.
