Bruins at Jets
THE STORY: The top team in the Eastern Conference was unable to slow down the surging Boston Bruins, but the NHL schedule makers might have a pretty decent chance at getting the job done. Coming off a stirring 3-1 victory at Pittsburgh on Monday that extended their points streak to 15 games (14-0-1), the Bruins will not get a chance to rest on their laurels as they make their first visit to Winnipeg in nearly 16 years Tuesday. It will mark the second meeting between the teams in 11 days. The Jets squandered an early two-goal lead in a 4-2 loss at Boston on Nov. 26, a game that came 24 hours after the Bruins' 10-game winning streak was snapped in a shootout loss to Detroit. Winners of four straight, Boston will be playing in Winnipeg for the first time since New Year's Eve in 1995 before returning home to face Florida on Thursday.

ABOUT THE BRUINS (17-7-1): Goaltender Tim Thomas stopped a season-high 45 shots Monday to win his career-high 10th consecutive start. The Bruins stymied Pittsburgh on a pair of 5-on-3 power plays and have allowed only 26 goals in the last 15 games. Boston owns its longest points streak since a 15-0-2 stretch in 1983. Leading goal scorer Tyler Seguin tallied for only the second time in 10 games and Rich Peverley had two assists to extend his points streak to four.
ABOUT THE JETS (11-11-4): Like the Bruins, Winnipeg has also dug itself out of a hole after opening the season with five losses in six games. The Jets have won two straight overall and five of six at home. Evander Kane scored a pair of goals in Saturday's 4-2 victory over New Jersey, giving him six goals in a five-game points streak. Bryan Little had a pair of assists Saturday, giving him 11 points in his last nine.
OVERTIME:
1. Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has been an ironman, starting 23 of 26 games. He has allowed only two goals in his last two after surrendering 16 in the previous four games.
2. Boston has won its last six road games, with Thomas recording shutouts in three of them.
