Sabres at Jets
THE STORY: Ryan Miller is peaking at the right time. After having a dismal start to the season, the former Vezina Trophy winner has righted the ship and helped the Buffalo Sabres collect 13 of a possible 14 points (6-0-1) in their last seven games. Miller will look to continue the Sabres' ascent in the Eastern Conference standings Monday when they conclude their four-game road trip against the Winnipeg Jets.

ABOUT THE SABRES (30-27-8): After Miller posted back-to-back shutouts, coach Lindy Ruff's club continued its winning ways by posting a 5-3 triumph at Vancouver on Saturday. Although the team is faring well, one must wonder if that can continue with Thomas Vanek and captain Jason Pominville struggling like they are. Vanek has one goal in eight games and Pominville has been held off the scoresheet in the last five contests.
ABOUT THE JETS (31-27-8): Winnipeg made a statement in its bid to win the Southeast Division by cruising to a 7-0 victory over Florida on Thursday. Left wing Evander Kane collected his first four-point performance of his career by scoring twice and setting up a pair of goals. Kane is riding a career-best eight-game point streak, but has only one goal in 10 meetings with the Sabres.
OVERTIME:
1. Miller has posted a 12-3-5 career mark versus the Jets/Atlanta Thrashers, but yielded nine goals en route to splitting a pair of contests this season.
2. Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has started every match during the team's eight-game homestand, posting a 4-2-1 mark. After a brutal effort in which he yielded six goals in a 6-5 loss to Buffalo on Nov. 8, Pavelec has permitted only one goal in each of the teams' last two meetings in January.
