Sharks at Ducks

The San Jose Sharks attempt to end their road winless streak as well as the Anaheim Ducks' string of home victories when the Pacific Division rivals face off at the Honda Center on Monday. San Jose fell to 0-3-1 in its last four road games when it dropped a 5-2 decision to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday in the back end of their home-and-home series. The Sharks, who have won only one of their last seven away from home (1-5-1), are in the midst of a five-game road trip that concludes on March 25 - also in Anaheim.

The Ducks, meanwhile, are kicking off a five-game stretch at home, where they have won 11 in a row. With a triumph on Monday, Anaheim will break the franchise record for consecutive home victories originally set from Dec. 8, 2009-Feb. 10, 2010. The division-leading Ducks, who had their five-game overall winning streak snapped with a 2-1 overtime loss at St. Louis on Saturday, have earned a point in 10 straight contests (7-0-3) since suffering a 5-2 loss at Los Angeles on Feb. 25.

ABOUT THE SHARKS (12-9-6): Left wing Ryane Clowe exited Saturday's loss late in the first period with an undisclosed injury and is questionable for Monday. The 30-year-old Clowe has collected nine assists in 25 games but has yet to score a goal. Captain Joe Thornton notched his 776th career assist against the Kings, tying him with Jean Ratelle for 35th place on the all-time list. Brian Leetch is 34th with 781 helpers. Since returning from a lower-body injury, Brent Burns has moved from defense to forward and collected two goals and three assists in three games. San Jose continues to struggle offensively, as it has scored fewer than three goals in 15 of its last 17 contests and more than three just once in 22 matches.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (20-3-4): Dave Steckel made his debut for Anaheim on Saturday, registering one shot on goal and blocking one while winning 7-of-11 faceoffs in just under 10 minutes of ice time. The veteran center, who was acquired from Toronto on Friday for right wing Ryan Lasch and a seventh-round draft pick in 2014, recorded one assist in 13 games with the Maple Leafs. Right wing Teemu Selanne's next assist will be his 756th and give him sole possession of 40th place on the all-time list. He is currently tied with Doug Weight. With 1,424 points, Selanne trails Bryan Trottier by one for 15th place. Center Saku Koivu scored Anaheim's lone goal Saturday, leaving him two points away from 800 for his career. Captain Ryan Getzlaf enters Monday's contest with a 10-game home point streak during which he has recorded six goals and 12 assists.
