Sabres at Devils
Two teams looking to put together a winning streak square off Saturday as the New Jersey Devils host the Buffalo Sabres. New Jersey halted a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 road triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. Jaromir Jagr recorded a goal and two assists as the Devils erupted for four goals in the third period to erase a 2-1 deficit and earn a split of the home-and-home series.
Buffalo stopped a five-game slide Friday with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff helped set up Luke Adam's tying goal late in the second period before scoring the winner 38 seconds into the extra session. All three of last season's meetings between the Sabres and Devils went to the shootout, with New Jersey winning twice.
