Ducks at Sharks
One night after trouncing one of the top teams in the Western Conference, the San Jose Sharks attempt to repeat the feat when they host the Pacific Division-rival Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. San Jose extended its winning streak to four games Friday with a 6-3 home triumph over St. Louis as Brent Burns registered his first career hat trick and added an assist. Captain Joe Thornton notched a goal and two assists while Logan Couture set up three scores for the Sharks, who have outscored the Blues 12-5 in two victories this season.
Anaheim remained unbeaten in regulation at home on Friday, improving to 10-0-1 with a 5-2 victory over Calgary. Dustin Penner scored twice while Andrew Cogliano and Corey Perry each recorded a goal and an assist as the Ducks rebounded from a 6-3 loss at Dallas on Tuesday. San Jose and Anaheim are tied atop the Pacific with 39 points apiece.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (18-7-3): Penner's two goals raised his season total to nine in 21 games. The veteran totaled nine tallies in 98 contests over the previous two campaigns with Los Angeles. Captain Ryan Getzlaf set up a pair of scores against Calgary, giving him seven goals and seven assists in his last nine games.
ABOUT THE SHARKS (17-3-5): With three points against the Blues, Thornton climbed within six of Michel Goulet (1,152) for 49th place on the all-time list. The former Hart Trophy winner has 811 career assists, one behind Pierre Turgeon for 29th all time. Thornton is four assists away from climbing past Turgeon, John Bucyk (813), Mike Modano (813) and Gilbert Perreault (814) and into 26th place.
OVERTIME
1. Ducks C Saku Koivu returned to action Friday from a 15-game absence due to a concussion and recorded a pair of assists to move one ahead of Chris Kunitz (111) for 12th place on the franchise list.
2. The Sharks are looking to complete a perfect five-game homestand.
