Noesen, Wood lead Devils over Ducks

NEWARK, N.J. -- Stefan Noesen scored off a scramble at 15:53 of the third period to lift the New Jersey Devils to a 5-3, come-from-behind victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night at the Prudential Center.

Noesen's tiebreaking goal ruined the homecoming of former Devils center Adam Henrique, who had a goal and an assist in his first game against his old team since New Jersey traded him to Anaheim for defenseman Sami Vatanen on Nov. 30.

Noesen iced the game with an empty-net goal at 19:53.

Miles Wood also scored twice for the Devils (19-9-5), while Jesper Bratt found the back of the net and Brian Boyle picked up three assists. Vatanen earned an assist, his first point since the trade.

Ryan Getzlaf and Jakob Silfverberg scored for the Ducks (14-12-8), and Josh Manson contributed two assists.

The Ducks had a pair of two-goal leads, 2-0 after one period and 3-1 in the middle of the second. Anaheim was still up 3-2 after two but could not pull away from the Devils, who finally tied the game on Bratt's 10th of the season 5:49 into the third.

Getzlaf slipped one through the pads of Devils goalie Cory Schneider 6:44 into the game to open the scoring.

Henrique's stretch pass off the left-wing boards then created a three-on-one for the Ducks that Silfverberg cashed in on to make it 2-0 at 10:30.

The Devils got one back on Wood's first of the game, a deflection of Vatanen's power-play slap shot at 8:11 of the second period.

Just three minutes later, Henrique victimized Vatanen with a flip pass to himself over the Devils defenseman's head, which led to a pretty backhand finish off the rush against his former team. Henrique has four goals, four assists and eight points in nine games since the trade.

Wood banked a right-wing shot off Ducks goalie Ryan Miller and over the goal line to again bring New Jersey within one at 18:16 of the second. It was his ninth goal, and it gave him three multiple-goal games this season.

Schneider made 21 saves. Miller stopped 29 shots.
