Ducks 1, Sharks 0

Jonas Hiller posted his second consecutive shutout and Bobby Ryan netted the lone goal of the contest as the Anaheim Ducks recorded a 1-0 victory over the visiting San Jose Sharks on Sunday in a battle of Pacific Division rivals.

After turning aside all 27 shots in a 6-0 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday, Hiller continued his hot hand two days later with his third shutout in his last eight starts.

The 28-year-old Swiss netminder turned aside 12 shots in the first period, 15 in the second and 10 in the third for his fourth shutout of the season and 10th career. The victory was also Hiller's fifth in his last six contests.

Ryan collected his 18th goal of the season - and third in two games - with 5:31 remaining in the second period as Anaheim (23-18-4) improved to 15-7-1 at the Honda Center this season.

Defenseman Toni Lydman and Lubomir Visnovsky were credited with the assist on the play.

Antti Niemi turned aside 27 shots to suffer his third straight setback and fall to 5-7-1 this season for San Jose (21-17-5), which dropped its fifth straight at home.
