Rangers 1, Canucks 0

Wojtek Wolski scored a power-play goal and Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves as the New York Rangers ended the Vancouver Canucks' five-game road winning streak Thursday with a 1-0 victory.

Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky each notched an assist for the Rangers, who improved to 5-1-1 in their last seven home games.

Acquired from the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday, Wolski provided all the offensive support Lundqvist needed, beating Cory Schneider at 7:18 of the second period for his seventh goal of the season and first in nine games. It also was the 24-year-old winger's first point in nine contests.

Lundqvist turned aside 11 shots in both the first and third periods while stopping nine in the second for his 30th career shutout and league-leading sixth of the campaign. Boston's Tim Thomas also has posted six blankings this season.

Schneider made 34 saves for the Canucks, who lost in regulation for the first time in 18 games (14-1-3). Vancouver's last regulation defeat occurred on Dec. 5 against St. Louis.

It was also Schneider’s first regulation loss this season, as he now drops to 8-1-2.
