Radim Vrbata and captain Shane Doan netted power-play goals and Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 28 shots as the Phoenix Coyotes scored four times in the third period en route to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.
Defenseman Keith Yandle collected a goal and two assists, Lauri Korpikoski scored and set up a goal and Taylor Pyatt also tallied as Phoenix (22-13-9) defeated Toronto for the fifth consecutive time.
Bryzgalov improved to 16-8-6 on the season and came within 3:52 of securing his third shutout of the season and 19th career.
Vrbata opened the scoring just 2:05 into the contest with Phoenix's first power-play tally in 21 opportunities.
Doan doubled the advantage 99 seconds into the third period and Pyatt and Korpikoski also netted their respective 11th goals of the season in the session.
Colby Armstrong ended Bryzgalov's shutout bid with his sixth goal of the season for Toronto (18-21-4), which saw its season-high four-game winning streak come to an end.
Rookie James Reimer finished with 16 saves to fall to 4-2-0 this campaign.
