Canucks 4, Capitals 2
Daniel Sedin scored two goals and Roberto Luongo made 24 saves to pace the visiting Vancouver Canucks to a 4-2 win over the Washington Capitals on Friday.
Alexander Edler and Christian Ehrhoff also scored and Jannik Hansen recorded two assists for Vancouver, which handed Washington its second consecutive loss.
After Matt Hendricks opened the scoring at 5:50 of the first, the Canucks reeled off three straight goals to take command of the contest. Edler scored his fifth of the season less than three minutes later to tie the game.
Ehrhoff collected his seventh of the season on a slap shot from the top of the circle while Vancouver was on the power play at 3:46 of the second. Sedin then added his team-leading 26th of the season at the 15:59 mark on a breakaway.
Marcus Johansson cut the deficit midway through the third period from Nicklas Backstrom and Brooks Laich, but Sedin added his second of the evening into an empty net in the final minute of regulation.
Semyon Varlamov made 31 saves in the loss.
