Evander Kane tallied twice late in the third period as the Atlanta Thrashers skated to a 3-2 victory over the visiting New York Rangers on Friday.
Anthony Stewart collected a goal and an assist for Atlanta (25-22-10), which snapped a four-game losing skid with its second win in eight contests.
Ondrej Pavelec stopped 27 shots to improve to 18-15-8 on the campaign.
With New York clinging to a 2-1 lead, Kane leveled the contest with 5:51 remaining in the third period. The former first-round pick then gave Atlanta the victory by cleaning up a rebound for a power-play goal with 2:20 remaining in the session.
Brandon Dubinsky tallied for the second straight game, All-Star defenseman Marc Staal also scored and Marian Gaborik notched a pair of assists for New York (29-24-4), which extended its season-high losing streak to six games (0-5-1).
Gaborik now has one goal and 11 assists in his last 10 games. After setting up Staal just 26 seconds into the second period, Gaborik then fed Dubinsky at 1:11 of the third period for the Alaskan's second goal in as many games.
After sitting out the last two games, All-Star Henrik Lundqvist returned to the ice and turned aside 32 shots to fall to 21-18-4 on the season.
