Rookie defenseman Cam Fowler capped a wild overtime by scoring at the 4:42-mark as the surging Anaheim Ducks cooled off the host Calgary Flames, 5-4, on Friday.
Anaheim's Teemu Selanne leveled the contest with a power-play goal with 2:07 left in regulation after goaltender Curtis McElhinney was pulled in favor of an extra attacker as the Ducks (31-21-4) won for the 13th time in 17 games.
The Flames (28-22-7) were 9-0-1 in their last 10 games and 5-0-1 in their last six at home.
Curtis Glencross had given the Flames a 4-3 lead at 8:18 of the third period.
Saku Koivu snapped a 13-game scoring slump with a pair of goals, and Brandon McMillan scored a shorthanded goal for the Ducks, who moved into a fourth-place tie with the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference.
McElhinney made 21 saves en route to his third straight victory in place of the ailing Jonas Hiller.
Flames captain Jarome Iginla scored his 23rd goal of the season at 5:33 of the third period to make it 3-3. Rene Bourque and Olli Jokinen scored 41 seconds apart in the second period for Calgary.
Koivu gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead at 13:04 of the first period with his first goal since Jan. 5. He had seven assists in that span.
Jokinen missed a penalty shot in the first period when he fired over the net.
Selanne also had three assists and moved past Henri Richard into 53rd on the all-time list with 690. He has 622 career goals, three behind Joe Sakic for 14th place.
